Summer 2008

August brings with it a nostalgic summertime urge to lay back and enjoy this fleeting time of warm sandy beaches, lemonade and the wonderful outdoors. Greenport has been buzzing with tourists, boats and artists. If you haven't visited us yet this year, this is the time to take a few days to relax and enjoy Greenport. Stop by Atelier to see new work by Steve Alpert, Steve Berger, Mark Kopko, jada rowland, Jennifer Ribbe and others. A trip to the Greenport Galleries continues to be one of the best summertime outings on Long Island, especially during Gallery Walk weekends. Stop by to view the art and say hello.

Atelier's Current Show:

Our America

Featuring the paintings of Steve Alpert, this beautiful show opens Saturday, August 2nd and runs through August 24th. "Our America" showcases paintings representative of our country's landscape, from local Dam Pond to Hawaii and in-between. Steve is a local artist who lives and paints in Quogue. Other artists contribute to the show, including Steve Berger, Mark Kopko, jada rowland and Jen Ribbe.

Atelier's Upcoming Show:

Vignettes of Long Island
Featuring the Paintings of Sheila Breck

Opening Saturday, August 23rd, Sheila's work reflects her desire to capture an ever-changing landscape, from nostalgic farm scenes to a distant view of Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital. A lifetime artist, Sheila is also a psychotherapist who fills her canvas with color, movement and energy. Sheila's show runs through September 7th, with an artist reception on Saturday, August 23rd, 6 to 9 pm. Stop by to meet Sheila, view her work, and perhaps find a canvas that brings new meaning to your love of this diverse and beautiful island.
